Commander R.N.R. (retired) William Stanley Thornton, R.D. (8 May, 1882 – ) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Thornton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 15 May, 1915.[1]

On 27 June 1919, he was logged and cautioned for damaging a travelling crane.[2]

Thornton was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 15 May, 1923.[3]

Thornton was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 8 May, 1927.[4]

Removed from the Retired List on 29 November, 1954.[5]
