H.M.S. Ambuscade was a Yarrow & Company-built prototype destroyer built for the Royal Navy in the mid 1920s. She and John I. Thornycroft & Company's Amazon helped determine the design factors that would inform more significant post-war construction, culminating in the "A" and "B" Class Destroyers of 1929-30.
There was an earlier Ambuscade launched in 1913.

Ambuscade was commissioned at The Nore on 19 April, 1927 under Commander Ambrose Thomas Norman Abbay.[4]
She re-commissioned at Chatham on 16 October 1928 for service with the Third Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[5]
Ambuscade commissioned at Chatham on 22 June, 1932 under the command of William Gronow Davis.[6]
