Commander (retired) SIR John Robert Guy Moncreiffe (Guy Moncreiffe of Moncreiffe, Baronet after succeeding to Baronetcy on 8 June, 1931), (30 June, 1884 – 7 September, 1934) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Moncreiffe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 August, 1905.[1]
Moncreiffe was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 August, 1913.[2]
On 20 September, 1913, he received an appointment to Bonaventure for command of submarines. This was refined to command of D 4 on 7 September, 1914, which he would command until 26 August, 1915. The next day, he was appointed to Maidstone for command of E 17.[3]
Post-War
On 6 February, 1919, Moncreiffe was appointed in command of the destroyer Harvester, and for submarines. In July, 1919, he was appointed to command Fermoy, remaining in her until 4 October.[4] Moncreiffe was promoted to the rank of Commander on the Retired List on 30 June, 1924.[5]
