Admiral SIR Eric John Arthur Fullerton, K.C.B., D.S.O., Royal Navy (28 November, 1878 – 9 November, 1962) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
His father was Admiral Sir John Reginald Thomas Fullerton, who died in mid-1918 at age 77.
Fullerton became a Lieutenant on 1 August, 1900.[1]
By his marriage in 1908 to Sybil Fisher, he became a son-in-law of the then First Sea Lord, Sir John Fisher.
Fullerton became a Commander on 1 August, 1910.[2]
Fullerton became a Captain on 31 December, 1914.[3]
He was appointed as Captain of H.M.S. Orion on 14 December, 1916.[4]
On 1 January, 1920 he was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, in the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.).[5]
Fullerton was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 12 December, 1930, vice Kelly.[6]
World War II
In 1940, Fullerton was appointed to Eagle additional for Liverpool to help oversee a convoy pool. Successive postings that year placed him in the destroyer Watchful and then Yarmouth, but the source is not very illegible. In May, 1942, Fullerton was superseded and reverted to retired pay.[7]
