Twenty-seven "R" class submarines were completed for the U.S. Navy in 1918 and 1919.

Design and Construction

Torpedoes

Electric Boat design:

  • four 21-in tubes with 8 torpedoes

Lake design:

  • four 18-in tubes with 8 torpedoes

Guns

  • one 3-in/50
