Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. (retired) Douglas Charles Way (8 September, 1894 – ) was an officer in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Way was appointed to the destroyer Minion from 1 December, 1915 and remained in her to some time in February, 1917, likely fighting in her at the Battle of Jutland.[1]

Way was appointed in command of the destroyer Chelmer on 8 December, 1918.[2]

Way was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 1 January, 1919. He was demobilised on 23 August, 1919.[3]

Way was placed on the Retired List on 10 January, 1925 and promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 1 January, 1927.[4]

World War II

He commanded auxiliary minesweepers at Aden from 2 September 1939 to 29 January, 1940.[5]
