Vice-Admiral (retired) SIR John Anthony Vere Morse, K.B.E., C.B., D.S.O., R.N. (16 October, 1892 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Sydney Morse, solicitor.
Morse was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1914.
Morse was appointed in command of the destroyer Unity on 19 February, 1918.[1]
Post-War
Morse was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1922.
Morse was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1927.
Morse was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1934. On 9 November, he was appointed Advisor on Training in the Chinese Navy, remaining in the post until 2 April, 1937.
World War II
Morse was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 8 July, 1943.
Morse was placed on the Retired List on 14 July, 1947 and promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) on 10 September, 1947.
