Captain Thomas Peere Williams Nesham, (30 September, 1843 – 1 May, 1900) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Nesham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 9 November, 1864.
In mid-September, 1875, Nesham was specially mentioned in despatches for service in command of Rocket's anti-pirate party on the Congo Expedition.
Nesham was specially promoted to the rank of Commander on 3 October, 1876 for services in [illegible].
Nesham was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1884.
On 5 March, 1892, Nesham was invalided from command of Tauranga. A telegram four days later reported that Nesham was suffering from "sub acute mania" and was incoherent. Though his condition was described as "tractable", his condition was noted as "unpromising". He was sent back to England from Kaikoura, due on 29 April.
Nesham was placed on the Retired List on 8 December, 1892 as being insane. He died at the Royal Naval Hospital, Yarmouth on 1 May, 1900.
