Admiral SIR Charles Edward Kennedy-Purvis, K.C.B., G.B.E., Royal Navy (2 May, 1884 – 26 May, 1946) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Clifton, Gloucester on 2 May, 1884.

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 January, 1904.[1]

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 January, 1912.[2]

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1915.[3]

Post-War

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1921.[4]

Kennedy-Purvis was appointed in command of the light cruiser Concord in July, 1925.

He was appointed in command of the battlecruiser Glorious in March, 1931.

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 30 September, 1933.[5]

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 28 June, 1937.[6]

Kennedy-Purvis was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 15 February, 1942.[7]
