H.M.S. Ambuscade was a Yarrow & Company-built prototype destroyer built for the Royal Navy in the mid 1920s. She and John I. There was an earlier Ambuscade launched in 1913.

Ambuscade was commissioned at The Nore on 19 April, 1927 under Commander Ambrose Thomas Norman Abbay.[4]
She re-commissioned at Chatham on 16 October 1928 for service with the Third Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[5]
Ambuscade commissioned at Chatham on 22 June, 1932 under the command of William Gronow Davis.[6]
She was re-commissioned on 31 August, 1933.[7]
