Commander (retired) Norman Blyth Weir, R.N. (30 October, 1893 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of stockbroker David Blyth Weir, Esq..
Weir was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1916.
Weir was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1924.
Commander Walter Macdonald Nash of Delphinium wrote that Weir "can be relied on to carry out his orders correctly" but "will never show any brilliance in a big position."
Weir was placed on the Retired List on account of age on 30 October, 1938 and promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) with an adjusted seniority of 1 September, 1939.
World War II
Weir was reverted to the Retired List on 29 June, 1946.
