Captain (retired) Alfred Gordon Hine, D.S.O., R.N. (28 October, 1888 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Westcott, Surrey the son of W. E. Hyne, Esq..
Hines gained two months' time on passing out of Britannia.
Hine was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 October, 1909.[1]
Hine was appointed in command of the submarine C 35 on 2 September, 1913.[2]
Hine was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 October, 1917.[3]
Post-War
On 9 August, 1920, he was appointed in command of the submarine K 9.[4]
Hine was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1923.[5]
Hine was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Captain on 28 October, 1934.[6]
