Lieutenant-Commander (retired) Michael King (20 July, 1851 – 14 May, 1935) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
King was a seaman and petty officer first class before becoming a Gunner.
King was promoted to the rank of Gunner on 11 January, 1879.[1]
King was promoted to the rank of Chief Gunner on 10 February, 1899.[2]
King was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1903.[3]
King was obliged to retired due to age upon turning fifty-five years old on 20 July, 1906.[4]
Great War
King was called back and appointed to join "Captain Fraser's mining party" out of H.M.S. Vernon on 20 September, 1915, being accorded the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired). He worked there until being returned to the Retired List in April, 1919.[5]
