Captain R.N.R. Gerald Norman Jones, D.S.O., R.D. (30 May, 1885 – 29 May, 1958) served in the Royal Naval Reserve.

Life & Career

Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant R.N.R. on 2 August, 1915.[1]

Jones was cautioned after grounding Sprightly in 1917.[2]

Jones was appointed in command of the first-class torpedo boat T.B. 21 on 19 September, 1918.[3]

Jones was demobilised on 21 February 1919, which was then post-dated to 17 March.[4]

Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander R.N.R. on 2 August, 1923.[5]

Jones was promoted to the rank of Commander R.N.R. on 30 June, 1929.[6]

Jones was promoted to the rank of Captain R.N.R. at some point, and made a Commodore, Second Class R.N.R. as well. In 1948, he reported that he was retired in Liverpool, but at age 63 or so was fit for general service, if required.[7]
