Rear-Admiral Hugh Lindsay Patrick Heard, C.B., D.S.O., ( – ) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
He was promoted to Captain on 30 June 1910.
Heard was made captain of Magnificent in May, 1912 until some time in 1913.[1]
He was given command of H.M.S. Exmouth in July 1913, and would remain there until February, 1914.[2]
In August 1914, he assumed command of the destroyer Grafton.[3]
He was appointed to command the destroyer Duncan on 3 July, 1915.[4]
He was appointed to command battlecruiser Renown on 7 January, 1919.[5]
Heard was also appointed in command of the battlecruiser Indomitable on 16 January, 1919.[6]
He was appointed to command the battleship Centurion on 1 March, 1919.[7]
He was promoted to Rear-Admiral on 26 February, 1921.
