Admiral Frederick Sidney Pelham, C.B.E., Royal Navy (25 October, 1854 – 19 October, 1931) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Pelham was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant from the Victoria and Albert with seniority of 18 August, 1876.[1]
He married on 23 November, 1886, Miss Louise Elizabeth Chads (died 26 December, 1949).
Pelham was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 31 December, 1890.[2]
Captain
On 30 June, 1898, he was promoted to the rank of Captain.[3]
In September 1901, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Fox.[4]
In November 1904, he assumed command of the second class protected cruiser Hermione.[5]
He was appointed in command of the battleship Albion on 1 August, 1905. He was superseded on 1 October, 1907.[6]
Flag Rank
Pelham was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 10 October, 1907.[7]
He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 20 March, 1913, vice Scott.[8]
Pelham was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 9 June, 1916, and placed on the Retired List the following day, in accordance with the provisions of the Order in Council of 8 December, 1903.[9]
