Lieutenant Guy Kemble Twiss, R.N. (4 September, 1888 – 24 June, 1917) served in the Royal Navy and was killed when his destroyer was mined in the English Channel in 1917.
He was the son of Vice-Admiral Guy Ouchterlony Twiss.
Life & Career
Twiss was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1911.
Twiss was appointed in command of the Tribal Class destroyer Tartar on 4 June, 1917 and was killed, along with forty-two other men, when Tartar struck a mine in the Channel later that same month. His service record notes his date of death as 17 June. He was buried in Walstead Cemetery in Lindfield in Sussex on Saturday, 23 June 1917.[1]
