Lieutenant Eric Walter Poyntz Westmacott, R.N. (23 June, 1887 – 28 August, 1914) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born in Teddington.

Westmacott was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 30 March, 1907.[1]

Westmacott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1909.[2]

Westmacott was appointed to the third class protected cruiser Amethyst for signal duties and for duty on the staff of Commodore (T), who noted Westmacott was "fond of all games", in October 1913. Westmacott died aboard the light cruiser Arethusa at the Battle of Helgoland Bight on 28 August, 1914. He was buried in the Heybridge Cemetery in Essex, Plot D, Grave 60.[3]
