H.M.S. Highlander was one of thirty-five "G","H" and "I" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy.

Service

The ship was originally ordered by Brazil as Jaguaribe. Britain purchased her on 5 September, 1939 and renamed her Highlander. Upon her commissioning, she joined the Ninth Destroyer Flotilla.
