Commander (retired) Harry George Hamilton Tandy, D.S.O., R.N. (14 April, 1884 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Tandy ranked forty-first among 62 successful candidates in examinations for entry to the Britannia intake term of September 1899, with 2228 marks.[1] His Service Record, however, records his date of entry as 1 October, 1900.
Tandy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 31 December, 1906.[2] In 1911 while he was first officer in Zulu, his wine bill was limited in the wake of excessive consumption.
Tandy served in Britannia from mid-October 1912 to 19 February, 1917.
Tandy was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 31 December, 1914.[3]
Retired at his own request on 3 August, 1920, Tandy was promoted to the rank of Commander on 14 April, 1924.
