Rear-Admiral Walter Stewart, C.B., R.N. (13 July, 1841 – 26 October, 1896) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Stewart was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant with seniority of 10 December, 1861.
Stewart was promoted to the rank of Commander with seniority of 13 May, 1869, in the hauling down vacancy of Vice-Admiral Lord Charles Paget.[1]
He was promoted to the rank of Captain with seniority of 9 January, 1878.[2]
On the occasion of the Queen's birthday Stewart was appointed an Ordinary Member of the Third Class, or Companion, of the Military Division of the Most Honourable Order of the Bath (C.B.) on 30 May, 1891.[3]
Stewart was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 1 January, 1893.[4]
