Life & Career
Born in Dublin.
Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 October, 1910.[1]
Read was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 October, 1918.[2]
Read was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1924.[3]
Read was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1932.[4]
World War II
Read was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 February, 1942.[5]
Read was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Vice-Admiral on 1 June, 1945.[6]
Reverted to the Retired List 4 May 1946.[7]
