Vice-Admiral (retired) Alfred Headley Norman, R.N. (27 August, 1881 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Chatham, the son of solicitor Alfred Reynolds Norman would gain eight months' time on passing out of Britannia in July of 1897..
Norman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 June, 1903.
Norman was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 June, 1911.
Norman was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1914.
Post-War
Norman was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1919.
Norman was appointed in command of the light cruiser Coventry on 1 May, 1920.[1]
Appointed in command of H.M.S. Burham from 1 March 1928 until being appointed in command of the battleship Valiant on 1 September, 1928.
Norman was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 October, 1931 and was placed on the Retired List the following day. He was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral (retired) on 2 January, 1936.
