Captain Harold Fielding Nalder, (22 September, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of brewer F. H. Nalder, Esq..[1]

Early in the war, Nalder served in the battleship Hercules, ending in February 1916. He was then appointed to the sweeping sloop Asphodel, where he served until 22 March 1917.[2]

Following a course in Torpedo Control at Vernon, he was appointed to Telemachus on 30 May 1917. He was re-appointed to the ship as Acting Lieutenant on 15 August, 1917. This rank would later be formalized. In Octonber 1917 he was appointed to the destroyer Racoon. He would survived in loss on 9 January, 1918, and in February be appointed to the destroyer Musketeer.[3]

Nalder was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1925.[4]

Nalder was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1931.[5]

Nalder was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1938.[6]</ref>

World War II

Nalder served in a variety of appointments throughout the war and was placed on the Retired List on 15 April, 1946.[7]
