Lieutenant-Commander (emergency) Philip Cranstown Musgrave, R.N. (6 August, 1864 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Major Tischmarker was named as Musgrave's guardian upon his joining Britannia in January, 1877.
Musgrave was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 October, 1886.
Musgrave was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 October, 1894.
Musgrave was appointed Lieutenant & Commander of the destroyer Ferret on 14 January, 1896.[1] He was swiftly superseded from the boat and sent to hospital to be treated for alcoholism. He resigned the service at his own request on 31 March, 1896.
On 5 March, 1915 he was placed on the Emergency List as Lieutenant-Commander, but he worked at the Canadian Hydrographic Department during the war.
