Commander John Ridgway Berridge Longden, O.B.E. (26 May, 1909 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

He was awarded the Jackson Everett Prize.

He was awarded the Robert Roxburgh Memorial Prize for being the Naval Cadet who obtained the highest place in the grand aggregate of marks in the Passing Out Examination at the Royal Naval College, Dartmouth.

On 10 February, 1938, he was appointed to the staff of the Admiral Commanding Reserves, as signal officer and for duty with London Division, R.N.V.R..

Longden was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1939.[1]

Longden was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1942.[2] By April, 194, he was on loan to the Royal Canadian Navy.[3]
