Commander (retired) Charles Gray Pitcairn Jones, R.N. (10 March, 1893 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Captain (retired) E. P. Jones, R.N. He gained one months' time on passing out of the Training Establishment and he was appointed to join Dreadnought on 15 September, 1910. After she paid off on 17 March, 1911, he was appointed to Formidable for six months and then to Implacable and finally to Africa on 14 May, 1912 operating with the Third Battle Squadron.
Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1915.
Post-War
Lieutenant Jones was appointed to the destroyer Success in November, 1919.[1]
Jones was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1923.
Jones was placed on the Retired List at his own request with the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1937.
World War II
Jones was reverted to the Retired List on 15 February, 1947.
