Commander (retired) Thomas Arnold Benskin (23 January, 1892 – 4 March, 1939) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of a "gentleman".

Benskin served in the battlecruiser New Zealand from December, 1913 to 31 March, 1915, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 June, 1914.

Benskin was appointed Lieutenant in Command of the destroyer Colne on 14 October, 1918.[1]

Post-War

He was somehow implicated in a refusal of duty by a large proportion of the crew of a ship with a name similar to Bibi Abut in August 1919.

After Colne paid off, Benskin was appointed to join Dublin, on 11 September, 1919.

He remained in Dublin until being discharged to Half Pay on 19 May, 1920. He was then placed on the Retired List at his own request on 30 June, 1920.

Benskin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander (retired) on 39 June, 1922.

Benskin was promoted to the rank of Commander (retired) on 23 January, 1932.
