Commander (retired) John Norman Benbow, O.B.E. (2 August, 1883 – ) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born in Simla, India the son of Major J. E. Benbow.
Benbow was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 August, 1905.[1]
Benbow was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 August, 1913.
Benbow was appointed in command of the destroyer Thorn on 6 January, 1914.[2]
On 3 August, 1914, Benbow was appointed in command of the destroyer Laverock.[3]
Post-War
Benbow was placed on the Retired List at his own request on 5 August, 1920.
Benbow was promoted to the rank of Commander on the Retired List on 2 August, 1923.
