H.M. T.B. 45 (1885) | |
---|---|
Builder: | John I. Thornycroft & Company[1] |
Ordered: | 30 April/1 May, 1885[2] |
Launched: | 21 December, 1885[3] |
Completed: | July 1886[4] |
Sold: | 1 August, 1919[5] |
H.M. T.B. 45 was one of 53 first-class torpedo boats of the 125 Footer class.
Service
She commissioned on 18 July to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1894 as one of three T.Bs. of the Torpedo Division 1 of the Red Side.[6]
In 1895, she was one of thirteen T.B.s of 125 feet or greater length and four smaller ones stationed in Devonport.[7]
Around 1906-1907, with the issuance of torpedo boat numbers to the first of the Cricket class torpedo boats, the existing Torpedo Boats numbered 25 to 79 had a "0" prepended to their number. This vessel, therefore, became T.B. 045.[8]
By May 1919, T.B. 045 was among 33 obsolete ships awaiting sale.[9]
