Captain (retired) Louis James MacHutchin, R.N. (12 September, 1865 – 30 December, 1909) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of Reverend M. MacHutching was born at Falke, Stoke-upon-Kent.[1]

MacHutchin was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 January, 1889.[2]

MacHutchin was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1902. In 105, he was tried by Court Martial and acquitted on a charge of hazarding and stranding the repair ship Assistance. The Admiralty was unconvinced of his innocence.[3]

MacHutchin was placed on the Retired List as unfit at the rank of Captain on 22 February, 1909.[4]
