Admiral (retired) William Heriot Maitland-Dougall, ( – 7 March, 1890) served in the Royal Navy. It appears that he was named William Heriot Maitland Dougall until about 1874.

His son, Arnold Maitland-Dougall also served.

Life & Career

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Sub-Lieutenant on 8 April, 1873.[1]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 28 April, 1876.[2]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Commander on 23 December, [illeg].[3]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Captain on 21 January, 1857.[4]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral in January 1875.[5]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral in June 1879.[6]

Maitland-Dougall was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 31 March, 1885.[7]
