Commander (retired) Geoffrey Wilson Mott, O.B.E. (27 May, 1898 – ) served in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

The son of A. F. Mott, Esq., a solicitor. Mott passed out of the Training Establishment in August 1914 and was appointed to King Alfred. Shortly after she paid off on 15 October, 1914, he was appointed to the battleship Emperor of India, where he remained until January, 1917. Later in the war, he served in Benbow and the light cruiser Calypso.[1]

Mott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1919.[2]

Mott was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1927.[3]

World War II

Mott was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Commander on 27 May, 1943. He suffered from sciatica and bronchitis during this time period.[4]

He injured his back in July 1954 and reverted to the Retired List on 27 August, 1955.[5]
