Rear-Admiral (retired) George Robert Lindley, C.B., R.N. (5 July, 1850 – 1 August, 1918) was an officer in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Born at Mars Hall, Mansfield.
Lindley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 September, 1873.[1]
Lindley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1886.[2]
Lindley was appointed in command of the third class protected cruiser Blanche on 30 December, 1890.[3]
Lindley was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1893.[4]
Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 July, 1900, Lindley was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 8 June, 1905.[5]
