Captain (retired) George Wilson, R.N. (12 May, 1885 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
There was an earlier George Wilson, who made Lieutenant on 15 June 1874. The "(b)" in this page's title is to differentiate the two.
Life & Career
The son of R. H. Wilson, Esq., solicitor and coroner[?] was born in St. Edmunds.[1]
Wilson was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 1 April, 1907.[2]
Wilson served the entirety of the Great War as gunnery officer in the armoured cruiser Roxburgh, being promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 1 April, 1915. On 20 March 1919 he was appointed to Emperor of India as gunnery officer. In this appointment, he was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1920. [3]
Wilson was placed on the Retired List at his own request at the rank of Captain on 15 May, 1931. [4]
