Captain (retired) Cuthbert Francis Bond Bowlby, C.M.G., C.B.E., D.S.C. (23 August, 1895 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Henry Thomas Bowlby.[1]
Bowlby was appointed in command of Template:UK-CMB4 on 2 May, 1917 and ppromoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 May, 1917. His boat was later altered to Template:UK-CMB23B at some indistinct later date. This work continued until 8 March, 1919, when he appears to have been appointed to the battleship Glory. On 7 Novemberm, 1919 he was appointed to the battleship Valiant.[2]
Bowlby was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 May, 1925.[3]
Bowlby was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1930.[4]
World War II
Bowlby was granted the acting rank of Captain on 1 May, 1941.[5]
Bowlby was placed on the Retired List on account of age at the rank of Captain on 23 August, 1945.[6]
