H.M.S. Medusa was one of four Medea class destroyers laid down for the Greek Navy but completed for the Royal Navy. She was lost to a collision in March of 1916.
In 1925, the monitor H.M.S. M.29 was renamed Medusa.
Service
Medusa sank following a collision with Laverock on a dark night in a gale and heavy sea on 25 March 1916. Her crew was rescued by Lt. Cdr. Vernon Saumarez Butler's destroyer Lassoo.[6]
