Vice-Admiral (retired) Clifford Caslon, C.B., C.B.E. (11 May, 1896 – ) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
The son of Sydney H. Caslon, Esq., a [illeg] Founder.
Caslon served in {UK-Monarch}} from 15 September 1913 through 24 December 1915, and then in Malaya through 1 December 1918, having been promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 15 April, 1917.
In the mid-1920s, he served as flag lieutenant to admiral Tyrwhitt.
Caslon was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 15 April, 1925.
Caslon was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1930.
Caslon was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1937.
Superseded as Commodore Commanding, Home Fleet Destroyers by Rear-Admiral Robert Lindsay Burnett on 5 March, 1942.
Caslon was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 15 January, 1947.
Caslon was placed on the Retired List at the rank of Vice-Admiral on 15 August, 1950.
Admitted to Haslar Hospital on 1 July 1954 for an ulcer on his cheek. He was discharged to his home on the 3rd.
