H.M.S. Thunderer was one of two Devastation Class turret ships completed for the Royal Navy.
Service
Thunderer was commissioned at Malta on 26 April, 1883 for service in the Mediterranean.
Commissioned at Portsmouth on 17 March, 1891.[6]
She was brought to full complement to participate in the Annual Manoeuvres of 1896 under the command of Captain Herbert William Summer Gibson.[7][8][9]
