H.M.S. Duncan was one of fourteen "C" and "D" Class destroyers completed for the Royal Navy, and one of two that were configured as destroyer leaders, accommodating an additional thirty in complement.
Service
Re-commissioned at Portsmouth on 5 April, 1933 for service with the First Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean, bearing Captain (D).[3]
Re-commissioned on 11 December, 1935 for service as flagship of the Eighth Destroyer Flotilla, operating on the China Station.[4]
