Lieutenant Humphrey Walter Smith, (4 March, 1888 – 20 January, 1913) was an officer of the Royal Navy.
Early Life & Career
The second son of Reverend Walter Edward Smith, vicar of Andover.[1]
Smith was aboard H.M.S. Montagu when she was wrecked in May, 1906.
He was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant dated April, 1910 and appointed to the third class protected cruiser Perseus in August, 1910.
Smith died while commanding one of Perseus's cutters in the Persian Gulf.[2]
