H.M.S. Broke was one of five flotilla leaders of the Shakespeare class.
Service
Broke was commissioned on 21 January, 1925 and sent to join the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla in the Mediterranean.[7] Upon her arrival, Eric Quintin Carter handed over command to Edmond Julius Gordon Mackinnon, and Broke became the flotilla's leader. Broke re-commissioned on 30 April, 1926, still under the command of Captain Mackinnon.[8]
Re-commissioned at 21 August, 1928.[9]
Reduced to Special Reserve Complement at Devonport on 28 April, 1931.[10]
