Rear-Admiral (retired) George Robert Lindley, C.B., R.N. (5 July, 1850 – 1 August, 1918) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Life & Career

Born at Mars Hall, Mansfield.

Lindley was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 23 September, 1873.

Lindley was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1886.

Lindley was appointed in command of the third class protected cruiser Blanche on 30 December, 1890.[1]

Lindley was promoted to the rank of Captain on 30 June, 1893.

Placed on the Retired List at his own request on 24 July, 1900, Lindley was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral (retired) on 8 June, 1905.
