Admiral SIR Eric James Patrick Brind, G.B.E., K.C.B., R.N., Retired (12 May, 1892 – 1963) served in the Royal Navy.
Life & Career
Brind was the son of a Colonel.
Brind was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 30 September, 1914.
Brind was appointed to H.M.S. Malaya on 8 January, 1916 and was in hers "B" turret during the Battle of Jutland and recorded a written account of the experience.
He served as the monitor Sir John Moore's gunnery lieutenant from 8 October, 1918 until 17 February, 1919.
Post-War
Brind was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant-Commander on 30 September, 1922.
Brind was promoted to the rank of Commander on 30 June, 1927.
Brind was promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December, 1933.
World War II
Brind was promoted to the rank of Rear-Admiral on 6 February, 1942.
Brind was promoted to the rank of Vice-Admiral on 16 October, 1945
Brind was promoted to the rank of Admiral on 20 March, 1949.
Placed on the Retired List on 22 June, 1953.
