H.M.S. Spiteful was one of twenty-four "B" class destroyers built for the Royal Navy — a "30 knotter".

In mid-1913, she was operating with the Portsmouth Local Defence Flotilla.[8]

Captains

With some ambiguity, it somehow seems that Spiteful and Flying Fish shared commanders Nicholson and Sparks.

Dates of appointment are provided when known.
