Vice-Admiral John Derwent Allen, C.B., A.D.C. (28 March, 1875 – 23 May, 1958) was an officer in the Royal Navy.

Allen was promoted to the rank of Lieutenant on 14 June, 1896.^[1]

Allen was promoted to the rank of Commander on 31 December, 1906.^[2]

Allen was appointed in command of the yacht Enchantress on 10 November, 1913^[3] and promoted to the rank of Captain on 31 December.^[4]

Allen was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Kent in September, 1914.

Allen was appointed in command of the armoured cruiser Antrim on 13 January, 1920.^[5]
