H.M.S. Blanche was a scout cruiser in the Royal Navy completed in 1910. Modern sources often treat her as a member of a two-vessel Blonde class, but we treat her as contemporary documents do, as one of seven ships of the Boadicea class.

Service

In November, 1911, Blanche was serving as a flotilla leader in the First Destroyer Flotilla.[9]

Blanche was recommissioned at Chatham on 23 January, 1913, joining the Fourth Destroyer Flotilla as flagship. On 1 July, she was to transfer to the Third Battle Squadron.[10]

She was attached to the Grand Fleet at the Battle of Jutland, under the command of Captain Casement.[11]

She recommissioned 17 February, 1917.[12] In March, she was refit to act as a minelayer capable of carrying 66 mines. She undertook 16 minelaying operations and sowed a total of 1238 mines.[13]
