''Heliotrope''''' was one of twelve [[Azalea Class Sloop (1915)|''Azalea'' Class sweeping sloops]] completed for the [[Royal Navy]]. ==Service== She was assigned to serve as one of the sloops attached to the Mediterranean Fleet without a flotilla designation, from some time in November, 1915 to some time in August, 1917.{{SMNLDec16|p. 20 and Supplements through September 1917}} She then became one of six or seven sloops listed as being part of the [[British Aegean Squadron]], without a flotilla designation.{{SMNLSep17|p. 21}} By mid-1918, this formation would obtain the designation of the {{UK-SloopF|9}} until the formation was disbanded in December, 1918.
